The Japanese AI artist collective "Paramita" will exhibit at "World Art
Dubai 2023," one of the world's largest art expositions, to be held at the
Dubai World Trade Center from March 9 to 12.
Paramita is co-founded by Koshiro Minamoto, a samurai artist, and Rena
Masuyama, a Facebook certified painter.
They are popular Japanese artists with their own AI art museum in
Akihabara.
They are currently attracting a lot of attention with orders of their works
fetching millions of yen.
The core of the company, Koshiro Minamoto, is a Samurai artist who has
studied Japanese martial arts for 37 years and Noh, a traditional Japanese
cultural art form, for less than 20 years.
Koshiro Minamoto has also attracted attention in the Middle East, where
he performed at the world's largest anime event, Japan Anime Town Riad
Season 2022, in Saudi Arabia.
Rena Masuyama, a Facebook certified painter, is a highly acclaimed
painter and filmmaker who has also conducted cultural exchanges during
the Iraq War and film screenings in Palestine and has been selected as a
Selected Book (Japan Library Association) for her picture books.
Masuyama is currently directing and producing an international samurai
film, "Toshizo's Sword," featuring Koshiro Minamoto.
The theme of the film is "Samurai and Cats”. This art series depicts
samurai and cats living in "Samurai Country," a futuristic city that
embraces diversity and transcends time and space, to convey the spirit
of the samurai to the world, to save the world from dystopia, and to lead
it to a paradise, hoping for peace.
AI-generated images are printed on Japanese paper and composed on
canvas. Each piece was handmade using traditional Japanese techniques such as Lacquered papier-mâché ware and iwa-enogu (mineral paints).
The goal is to convey love to artificial intelligence. This group of works
visualizes and materializes the current strong influence of artificial
intelligence on human society through the expressive power of drawing
cats.
The works are located at booth Z06-07 in the Animation Corner of "World
Art Dubai 2023" at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Kimono and Samurai live painting performances will be held near the
booth every day.

Although Japan was closed off to the outside world during the Edo period
(1603-1868), cats from a variety of countries and cultures lived in the
country. The series depicts cats enjoying Japanese culture, such as sumo,
calligraphy, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, Noh, and Kabuki, while
incorporating the development process of modern manga animation, from
Chōjū-giga (Birds and Animals Caricatures), Hokusai's manga, and
Utagawa Kuniyoshi's ukiyoe cat paintings. Purchasers of the paintings, as
foster parents of the cats, are residents of the new "Samurai Country”.
World Art Dubai 2023, AI Art Gallery of AI art group "Paramita" in
Akihabara, NFT Gallery, and Kamakura Cat Exhibition will simultaneously
hold a project in which the most popular cat voted for will become a cat
Vtuber and debut as a singer.
